Okay... I've decided not to wait until the beginning of the day, week, or month to restart writing. Today is the day. Right now is the time.
I'm going to read some in my latest instructional book (I have more than I can count). Then working on an assignment for my online writing class, which I was hoping for discipline from taking the course but so far it hasn't worked that way for me. Finally last night I got a seed of an idea for a short story I will submit to the local chapter of Sisters In Crime (Speed City Sisters in Crime) newest anthology. This is their third anthology and the theme is basketball. I've struggled to get a start on this one. With this idea I think things will come together. Now I my struggle today will be not to get DISTRACTED. So with that I'll end this post and try to come back soon with an update.

I’ve signed up for a writing course and should be receiving the materials within a week or so. Perhaps with this the blog, my critique group I will be able to develop more self-discipline that, at this point in time is my worst enemy for accomplishing my goals of being a productive and paid writer.
I also just got a new netbook – which is just about the cutest thing ever! I know that doesn’t sound very professional, but it is really cute. Doesn’t it make you feel good when you get a great deal on something? I’ve been pricing these for several weeks and this was the best deal I’ve ever seen, without signing up for a wireless service. In addition, I found that Microsoft is getting ready to release Office 2010 and you can down load the entire Office Suite (Beta) and use all the programs free until 10-31-10. Maybe by then I can have some income from short stories! That would be great. I have started this blog to help myself with self-discipline. Which I have very little of at this time. I love the quote “The worst thing you have ever written is better than the best thing you have never written”. The author is unknown but I know that this is a true statement.

First published work.My short story “Picture Perfect” was published in June 2010 in an anthology, Bedlam At The Brickyard. This is my first work to appear in print. I am currently a member of the Speed City Chapter of Sisters in Crime. They are a great group. Many are published authors and all are encouraging. Categories |
